THINGS
TO WATCH OUT FOR WHEN LOOKING AFTER ME.
My food must be cut into very small pieces or liquidised. I can feed
myself with a spoon but like help. Please watch that I don’t stuff too much food into my mouth at one
time as it can cause me to choke.
I like my drink in a beaker please and I drink a lot.
From October 2008. No more food or liquids by mouth.
I have no concept of danger and will touch a red-hot
oven or fire. I will walk into the road without looking and could easily fall into a pond. I will put anything that I
think is edible into my mouth. I like to be watched all the time.
I sleep badly and will often wake up crying for no apparent reason. If I do so, I
need comforting until I drop off again. If I say "I want Daddy", it means I am in pain. I tend to wake up early
and will then happily watch Cbeebies for a while but I do like an early breakfast!
I can understand basic instructions but am not
able to have a conversation. I will try and communicate with you but with very few words.
Please do not let any water into my ears.
Watch out if I have something in my hands, a book or drinking beaker, because when I finish with it I may throw it away
with some force!
I will not ask for the
toilet so take me often. If I start straining, take me quickly!
I am generally a loving and happy child but sometimes I will hit out for no apparent reason and you
need to watch me if I say HIT or KICK, because if I say it I may do it.
